The Clinical Internship / Elective Program at HMU is structured to offer flexibility while upholding high standards of academic rigor and training quality. Placements run for two to six weeks and are available year-round, subject to departmental capacity and faculty availability.
Who can apply
Students of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing or health-sciences disciplines who have completed at least their third year of study.
Duration & rotations
Minimum two weeks per specialty. Placements of four weeks or longer allow rotation between two departments for a multidisciplinary experience.

Internal Medicine · Gastroenterology
Ward rounds, endoscopy observation and case discussions in gastroenterology.
Internal Medicine · Respiratory
Respiratory medicine ward experience with experienced physicians.
Emergency Department
Acute care and emergency management in a busy teaching hospital.
Intensive Care Unit
Critical care observation and structured clinical supervision.
Outpatient Departments
Outpatient clinics across multiple specialties and consultations.

What to expect
Daily ward rounds
Join physicians on daily ward rounds in real clinical settings.
Affiliated teaching hospitals
Train in HMU's affiliated teaching hospitals alongside clinical teams.
Structured supervision
Guidance and mentoring from experienced medical professionals.
Case discussions & skills
Case discussions, outpatient observation and clinical skills practice.
Cultural immersion
Experience Vietnamese culture, cuisine and daily life during your stay.
Certificate of completion
Receive a certificate at the end of your program upon request.

Visa Information
Students must obtain a study visa before the program starts. A Visa on Arrival (VOA) arrangement is available; visa fees are paid directly by the student at the airport upon arrival in Vietnam.
